Carissa Schumacher, who long-time listeners will recognize from this podcast, is an incredible forensic medium—which means that yes, sometimes the police call on her for assistance in solving crimes and yes, she also talks to people on the other side. But as of the end of 2019, she’s also a full-body channel for Yeshua, or Christ Consciousness. This might sound wild—and it is wild—but what’s expressed during these transmissions is also incredible. It’s deeply resonant, lyrical, and profound wisdom that feels so true—and sometimes counterintuitive—that it doesn’t really matter who is its author. Carissa and by extension, Yeshua, have been guiding lights for me in the past four years bringing me ever closer to myself. If you have an opportunity to go to one of Carissa’s journeys and you feel calle, do it. They can be life-changing, in both overt and slowly unfolding ways.
I asked Carissa to join me for this special series on GROWING UP because I wanted to ask her about highly sensitive children, empathy, and intuition—both its presence in all of us, and what happens as we grow up that causes it to shut down. For highly sensitive people—of which I know there are many who listen to this podcast, hopefully you’ll hear your own experiences reflected here. For parents of highly sensitive children, I hope what you hear will help. Conversations with Carissa are never short though, so we cover a lot of other ground from recent transmissions—the “in-reality self” versus “the in-theory self” and so much more. Let’s turn to it now.

ELISE LOEHNEN: So can you talk about, obviously your experience as a child was a little different. Most of us are not talking to dead people straight out of the, straight out of the gate. But some people have that experience.
CARISSA SCHUMACHER: firstly, it's wonderful to be here. I feel like it's important to put a disclaimer as we're entering this discussion that I was so honored to be invited on as the guest or spokesperson for intuitive or sensitive children. I will mention that I myself don't have children, but I clearly throughout the body of my life have experienced what it is to go through the developmental process of being a person that carries very strong intuitive or other types of abilities that fall into more of that vertical type of arena. And throughout the course of my work, I have also worked with a tremendous amount of parents as well as their children, who have developed or have just been naturally born inherent to their essence with intuitive abilities. And it's just been a joy for me to be able to bring them the support that I didn't necessarily have when I was a child. And so I feel worthy of being able to be the one to discuss some of these things. But I don't want our conversation to fall too much in the category of just how to parent an intuitive child. I'd like it to flow more in the category of what to do with an intuitive child or how to recognize and accept and integrate certain intuitive qualities that each listener has carried throughout the body of their life, but maybe weren't seen and recognized within their early lives just because we are living in a very horizontally focused world.
ELISE: Yeah, let's make this about reparenting our own intuitive selves and our own intuitive children as well. This isn't a parenting podcast, so this is already a special series, but mostly it's applicable to anyone, whether you have squeezed a baby out of your body or adopted a baby or not.
CARISSA: So, in some of my early experiences, there was never any aspect of the vertical or spirit or what I saw and heard within my waking life that created fear for me. So the vertical, for me, always felt like a very safe and sacred place. My experiences with more of, I would say, the more shadow aspects of spirit emerged most commonly in dreams and in my dreaming life. And this is a quality that I have seen many times in children, young adults, or even you know, people in their early adulthood that have, I would say, a stronger vertical attunement or just more or are on naturally a path of consciousness from the point that they enter this life. A lot can show up in dream, vivid dreaming life. And very often some of what I would say more of the shadow integration happens very early in their development. So in most children, the integration of identity and shadow doesn't happen until the ages of anywhere between 10 to 14 years old. And that's where we really see the deviation from all Children are very vertical and dreamlike and there is no time and see things and sense things and attune to things. But it really is that point of about, I would say, 10 to 14 years old in the Erickson model of psychoanalysis or child development. That's the period where we start to understand institution versus individual. So we're working, maneuvering through school systems, hormones are introduced, new social patterns, we're exposed to information, literature, programs that really cause us to look at self, not just in relation to family structure or immediate environment, but more self in relation to the world. And it's a lot during those years to really process and look at where do I fit in within the context of this and especially now we're really seeing Children struggling with this now with social media and other forms of technology, but nevertheless, one of the criteria is definitely very vivid dreaming and a lot showing up in dreams. So already by about the age of I would say four or five, maybe even six years old, I started to have recurring dreams in which I was basically held captive, held hostage by a very, very dark force. It almost seemed to me, you know, now that I know the word now, like antichrist type of energy.
And this was definitely a regulation. It was a projection of some of the fears that I had surrounding safety surrounding the world. I do feel that there was a metaphysic component to this as someone that was meant to follow a path of service to the integration of light and shadow and service as a medium and seer, I had to regulate and process my own fear. And so time and time again, just naturally, I've done this many times in my life when working with say, lower energy entities, I had to learn very naturally to break the cycle of the fear. And so one of the things that I would do, is I would sit in meditation in my sacred space, which at the time that I was growing up was a little place in front of a stream. And I would recall the dream, or I would recall whatever scary vision that I was experiencing. And I would consciously change and reorchestrate the outcome, meaning that I would go back into that space. I would liberate myself, I would transform this very dense evil type of being that I was experiencing. And through the course of that, those dreams transformed. And it was after that point that I didn't really carry a lot of fear. Not only with regards to the vertical, But also with regards to the horizontal ramifications of what I was seeing and attuning to, and this was very important. I'm very grateful to my spirit and to the divine, to having brought me through these kind of traumatic dream experiences very early on, because that has allowed me in my service as a medium, not to get caught up into fear projections, which is something that I see a lot of the time, it can be a very dangerous mechanism of control when someone's channel is not pure and very diluted by fear or imbalances of the ego that can have a very big impact on their ability to accurately channel or receive certain messages.
ELISE: their own emotional spin on it.
CARISSA: Yes. Yes. And so it was fairly early on, I would almost call that period of about age five or six as almost like the first dark night of the soul, but it played out for me in this dream time, very vertical type of space. And so from then on, the other thing that I gleaned from that, and this is a practice that I very often recommend to people that have intuitive children or looking to grow their own or understand their own intuitive abilities: create a sacred space. All the work. The shadow, the light, integration, everything. Nothing really works until you have a sacred space. This can be before an altar. I tend to find that creation of the sacred space, do it in a place of nature that carried a certain sacredness or depth of meaning. A place on the earth. You know, as above, so below, a place where you felt both vertically connected, very one in your being, but also a place within the horizontal world. And so through that, I would go into my sacred space and what started happening is from the other side of the stream, I would sit on one side of the stream, I would start to see beings walking towards me from the other side of the stream. And sometimes there were messages that were delivered. Sometimes it was just almost someone coming up to give a greeting. And that was my original process for just even being able to handle the mediumship or what it is that I was experiencing. So I wanted to...
ELISE: boundary of this stream. Like you are moating yourself. Okay.
CARISSA: yes. And I could not cross the boundary. And so it kept me safe to be able to be in body, but it also set the boundary that the vertical, the spirit dimension stops here. And very often, I would invite someone to come through that was maybe stuck or needed to cross over into the light, but there was a boundary that was set. And this is something that is so important for intuitives, intuitive children, when you have an open channel, at a very young age or even when your channel starts to open at a later age, it can feel very overwhelming. It's like downloads are coming and there can almost be this sense of a warping of reality and dreaming state. And so having a structured practice, I call it now office hours. I have office hours for spirit so that I'm not constantly bombarded, overwhelmed. And that is just my sacred space, my sacred time with the vertical. It isn't a chore. It isn't just, oh, I have to go meditate to bring my back self back to balance. It's something that I really look forward to and cultivate each day, not only to be able to serve, but also for my own process of healing or integration or reconciliation of whatever different energies or currents I'm experiencing on a given day.
I like many, many people went into a series of years where I became very afraid of these abilities. I wasn't afraid of what was happening I was more afraid of the ramifications of it in the horizontal world. And so for times in my childhood, long periods of time, it's like I had this completely vertical life and this entire horizontal life. It was like I created a split. And at this point, I'm actually grateful that for self protection, my ego or my mind or my critical self created. That's a vision for me to be able to evolve and to integrate and to have normal experiences. But that is a very common thing that I receive, especially for the intuitive young adults that I'm working with, the sense that if I even speak about this, if I even bring this forward, I'm going to be judged. I'm going to be rejected as a result of this. And so that aspect is really shut down...
ELISE: you are Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
CARISSA: Is that her story?
ELISE: But just thinking about Sarah Michelle Gellar, I mean, isn't she like a normal, like, high school? Student who slays vampires at night. Isn't that the premise? I might be getting this wrong, but I'm gonna start calling you Buffy.
CARISSA: That's a question that I don't really know how to answer. I feel like I'm more Judy Jetson. Like I always love it when, you know, your listeners actually like tune into these podcasts. You know, you have people that are discussing like the neuroscience codes of the microbiome. And I'm here...
ELISE: you are a neuroscience major. It's the same thing.
CARISSA: But gotta be a balance of both. And when I was at Brown, I did, you know, go and get a neuroscience degree to really help to understand some of the neuroscience, the scientific explanations beyond what is going on, certain things within the brain. And this is another thing that I want to mention with regards to intuitives and intuitive children. I've noted that a lot of the children that I've worked with have at some point been diagnosed with something, whether it's neurodivergence or spectrum or Asperger's, no clear, you know, this is definitely ADHD, or this is definitely that or this. And what I'm appreciating now about what's going on in neuroscience and some of the research into development, especially with what's going on at UBA, some of the studies that they've done with children that are reporting past life experiences and unbelievable detail with no ability to even know those types of things. They're tapping into the field of memory. So I'm happy to see that now there is more research that's being put less into let's give these children a classification so that we can diagnose them and get them on drugs and more interested in looking at the differences in some of the feedback loops in the brain.
You know, for very intuitive children sometimes, and we even see this with savants and people with autism, certain pathways within their brain that may be concerned kind of normal get impacted or traumatized or shut down. But entirely other loops then start to open, especially within the prefrontal cortex of the brain. And that's the prefrontal cortex is basically the region that we refer to as the third eye. And so there is expansion of this and I hope that is going on. So if you don't mind what I would love to do, since we're kind of flowing with this all, I'd love just to bring everyone through a list of qualities with regards to how to recognize certain sensitivities, intuition, certain gifts that your child might have, or that you might have, or that even may have been passed down within your ancestry. A lot of things are genetically passed down with regards to how the brain works, certain circuitry, open pathways within the prefrontal cortex.
ELISE: Do you think I'm gonna say no to a list?
CARISSA: oh yeah, I know the bullet point list. You and Yeshua, man, I hated bullet points.
ELISE: My heart's just like really going pitter patter right now. I'm like, how many things are on this list? I cannot wait.
CARISSA: It's actually pretty simple. And I want to be clear that many people might listen to this list and be like, okay, well these are general to everyone. Meaning that you don't just have to have an intuitive or highly sensitive child to have these things on the list be accurate. Yes, everyone has one or two qualities on this list. What I look at is when someone starts to have like six or seven of these aspects on the list, because that means that there is a very strong vertical attunement that is going on many, many different qualities of the three types of intuitives. So I want to go through the three types of intuitives before I go into this list, because it's important to make the distinction with regards to how to work with some of the qualities on this list. So the first type of intuitive, and people can have one or two, some people have all three, some people just have one, all people have intuitive abilities. So every person on the planet has one of these that's stronger than the other. The first is the seer. So seers have the Claires as Lauralyn Jackson would say. Claire audience, claire olfactory is one of my favorite claire's. I get it all the time. I actually have way more Claire olfactory and claire au audience, which is sounds, hearing sounds. Then I do clairvoyance. And so Sears is a little bit of a misnomer because we just think about seeing some of those visions. But if you have ever just been in a place and smelled like the scent of the exact cologne, Old Spice or something that your grandfather was wearing and nobody around you is wearing it, that's clairaudience, the presence, the residue of that person's spirit is there and you're catching up, you're smelling something that you're accessing fundamentally from the field of memory. So there are seers. Seers, they see the visions, they see, they hear, they receive, whatever it is that they need to know for someone or a given experience within themselves. There's a very strong creative. aspect to this. It's very dreamlike, the experience of seers.
And so, as I've said before, on June journeys, where I talk about how to train your channel and intuition, it's really important for seers to develop something that I refer to as a psychic library. So a psychic library is working co creatively with spirit, to be able to say, if i'm getting a constant vision of a rhinoceros, I need to know what that means because otherwise this is going to drive me crazy. And why am I getting this? Same thing with numerology, Spirit if i'm seeing 11 11 Continuously on the clock, let's co creatively decide what that ultimately and so for example, i've said this before but I know when someone has had a lot of plastic surgery, if I see a rhinoceros, and I don't know why that is, I think it may have something to do with rhinoplasty, this was a symbol that I developed when I was like 13, this one came through, if the rhino is sick or grey, I know that's my symbol for knowing that someone is having medical or physical complications as a result of that plastic surgery. So, another one for me in my psychic library is Lion. Lion has saved my life more times than I can possibly count. Lion, for some reason, is in my psychic library, it means Stop. Halt everything that you're doing right now, look around, there is something that is going on. And so, there was one time when on a journey, we were starting to go into a cave in Sedona. And all of a sudden I heard lion. I stopped the whole group. We look ahead and 15 feet in front of us is a massive, massive Mojave rattlesnake. And, and those things Mojaves, they can fly. They can jump when they strike. And so we were able to shuffle and get out of that cave. But that one to me is a very, very decisive stop halt. There's something going on. Very deep seated warning.
You know, numerology, I'm not going to get too much into that. And by the way, it's a huge fallacy that this is just all presented to zero. Meaning that some divine voice comes down and says, grasshopper means that somebody is going to move in the next six months. You have a part in this. That's the fun of the co creation. And so you get to actually decide or give forth, you know, spirit. If I need to know that someone that I'm working with needs to be moving in the next year, please show me a grasshopper. And this exercise is really empowering for Children. I had one little girl that I was working with. Well, she wasn't so little. She was about 14 years old. Incredible gifts. Her channel was opening. She was terrified. It was a lot. And I had her work with the development of her psychic library and what she received continuously as a reminder that she was safe was a butterfly and it was a very specific colored butterfly. And so every time I would bring her to her sacred space and we would just fill the space with the butterfly. And in a lot of fear based situations, including some experiences where she was bullied in school, she would just close her eyes and either see the butterfly. And so this butterfly was really the spirit guide coming to remind her of her divine power, of her sovereignty, of her ability to know what to do and to be able to accept and move through certain situations. So Children really can have a lot of fun with this because of course, like we're teaching them vocabulary and all of these different things for them to almost have their own language to be able to communicate or speak or connect with spirit is really, really special.
ELISE: I think it's important for, yeah, for people to remember too, particularly those who are skeptical about this whole business. And you, everyone should be skeptical. Of course, skepticism is very healthy. If you go to an intuitive who maybe isn't as advanced or developed, I think that people have this assumption that the information would come in sort of a complete and coherent download, and that this person should be able to nail it. And meanwhile, they themselves are playing a game of charades and trying to understand. So I've had those experiences where I'm like, what? Like, where they're giving me the symbol and they have no idea what it means. And neither do I.
CARISSA: sure, absolutely. And that's why You know, the translation of all of this you know, I don't want this to sound like ego. I'm just, this process for me started very early. It's not like I turned 14 and automatically downloaded. I've had 41 years to be able to grow and tweak and really figure out what symbols or what, whatever else is applicable. And that's why I'm known for my accuracy. But I'm just mentioning this because it can be helpful with regards to reclaiming your personal power over the experience instead of it just being like, well, I'm getting visions of hummingbirds all the time. And I don't know what this means and blah blah blah. It is important if you're receiving that. And frankly, you know, this is not woo woo stuff. People in dreams, dreams fundamentally, it's when we dream, it's like an intersection of the vertical and the horizontal. Our brain is taking energy and input and experiences that we didn't even know that we had throughout the day and basically projecting it onto this entire dreamscape. And the dreamscape is very horizontal. There is no time in dreams. If you die in a dream, you don't actually die, you just go on to another dream or resurrect or whatever else. And so dreams are very important to every person. Even the people that don't dream, what they're experiencing in dream time is incredibly sacred. So in dreams, many, many people, I've worked with many skeptics that come and do a session because they've had continuous nightmares about getting bitten by a rattlesnake or dreams about snakes or whatever else. And every time they have those dreams up, something happens within their life. And people have a lot of fear surrounding these, you know, rattlesnake bite means that someone is out to get me. That is not what it means in a tremendous amount of indigenous situations in ancient societies being bitten by a rattlesnake means that you're experiencing a massive transformation that you're given the medicine. of healing with snake representing medicine of healing. So I'm always thrilled when I get bitten by a rattlesnake in a dream because it's like, great, I'll take the medicine. So that is the seer.
The next type of intuitive ability, and this is a big one, oh my gosh. I know so many of your listeners are just going to like hold their hearts. The second is the feeler. Feelers. Oh my. I always say that feelers are the healers. Feelers tend to be more of the empaths. Feelers within their spirit body. It's almost as though they have these tentacles that absorb the feelings or the energy of the people, or even the natural environment around them. And so of co it's always very difficul recognize what energy is else's. This is where som practices can come into p lay it provokes the emotions, and it's very difficult when you're sensing a person is just, you know, pretending to be fine around you, and you just feel like you completely want to cry in their presence to be able to, you know, say, Hey, is there something going on? Is there something wrong? And so a lot of feelers, it's almost what I've heard from a lot of feeler intuitives is that it's almost like suffering in silence. That they're carrying almost the emotional burden for everyone around them. And so reempowering the feeler to really bring that into the gifts of energy transmissions. I mean, I look at [undecipherable] who you had a wonderful experience with. She's one of the only physical healers and distance healers that I trust. She really is very attuned. She doesn't absorb, even though she's an empath. She doesn't take on the emotional burden to the point that she's freaking out and emotional. She's really learned how to regulate that into taking that energy that a person is experiencing, helping to transform it, helping to alleviate it, and then creating a pathway within you to help relieve or suck out or alleviate that burden or that anger or that frustration or physical ailment, whatever someone is experiencing.
ELISE: She's amazing. I'll put her info in the show notes so people can find her.
CARISSA: Amazing. And so for feelers, I just want to put this little nugget in there. You can recognize if you have very strong feeler intuition, if you just naturally tend to almost be a counter polarizer in certain situations. So I had a young boy around 15 that I was working with and he felt like he was starting to develop social anxiety because when he would go to a funeral or a sad experience, he would start laughing. If he was in an experience where like a party or something where everybody was happy, he would start crying and just feel like almost overwhelmed with the energy within that experience. And so helping him to process that was instrumentally helpful. Not to shut it down, but helping him to process and integrate that. Be it, maybe you just need to take five minutes away to go and breathe and cry in the bathroom. You know, if you're at the funeral, maybe you just need to remove your stuff. But that's important. You know, Yeshua, Christ did this within his life, when the energy was very, very down and low, he would start picking it up, telling a few jokes, raising the vibration of the energy, giving hope. You know, Heoka shamanism is very similar when everybody in the tribe would be sad, they would, you know, bring joy or humor, whatever into a situation to lighten it. And when things were too high, getting too volatile, too much grounding, helping to bring it down to that balance, to that intersection back into the present. So feelers you really, really do best when instead of taking on the energy, you're utilizing the counter polarity.
So if you're feeling a ton of grief, Add some joy, add some passion, too much water element, add a little bit of fire into the mix. And it really naturally helps to clear you as well as counterbalance the energy of everything around you. Okay. And so the last one, the last one is the knower. I have said before that I always feel a little bit sorry for the knowers because it is such a powerful aspect of their spirit, their path. Knowers, it is like out of the blue, they just say something, they see someone, they just know exactly what to do or say in a given situation. And this is something that is not just vertical, it's also very horizontal. I look at Angela Guerra, who you've met on journeys, who was a former police officer. She is a knower in extremely dangerous situations. There were times that she knew exactly what to do, even if it wasn't precisely what her training or the guidebooks would have suggested. And every single time when she trusted that people were brought to safety, she was safe within these experiences. With knowers, the problem that they have is that they don't know where it's coming from. When you're getting a vision, you know that it's coming from somewhere or something.
When you have a feeling, you can recognize when it's a feeling, when it's, when it's a knowing. A lot of knowers, especially automatic channel writers, are like, did I write this? Was I channeling? Did Mary Magdalene write that, you know, did, where is this coming from? And so they do have the tendency, knowers, to really second guess themselves some of the time or to think I probably made this up or it was a mental thing or primed in my, you know, in my brain. And so with knowers, I really work on helping them to trust what is coming to the surface and not only to trust the knowing, but also to express that knowing. And so one of the qualities of intuitive children, if anyone listening has ever had a child that is just playing, trucks, Barbies, whatever, just playing and then turns around. And just says the most profound wise thing you have ever heard in your life to the point that you're like, are you like Buddha or some, you have a knower child. And of course, children up until the age, once, until they start taking on more of their shadow and density, they're very, very pure. And so children are able to stay deeply connected to more to the vertical, more to the field of memory. And so they're able to access things from within themselves, but it can be really incredible when you have a knower because some moments they're like totally normal. And then other moments it's like, where the hell did that come from? And how can we cultivate more of this knowing to, you know, be able to be part of your path.
So now that we've gone through those three types of intuitives, and hopefully some of you listening may already kind of be sensing where some of your deeper gifts lie, I wanted to go into a couple of ways to recognize that either you have an intuitive child or. That you were just a very intuitive child growing up. So the first one is like star, star, star, star, star. They often have deep concern for inanimate objects, meaning that their empathy, their connection, they see things more through the lens of oneness to all things then through the lens of division or separation or you or I, and sometimes they can take this consciousness or their experience of their perception and it gets projected onto everything. So if you have ever had a child that is upset about throwing away anything, like you're taking down the Christmas tree, try to throw away the Christmas tree. They're sad for the Christmas tree. Where is the Christmas tree gonna go? Is he gonna be okay? Toys. Oh, that teddy bear, you know, he'll be so sad if we give him away. This is a huge quality in intuitive children. And I had this very deeply, especially when it came to like loss of pets and things like that. The way that my parents helped reconcile this, bless their hearts, I would ask for very elaborate burial rituals. Ceremonies with processionals, Everybody wearing hats and black veils and we would put the hamster or the teddy bear or whatever in a box and we would bury it and we would do an entire funeral ceremony with prayers and that would bring me peace surrounding the letting go and the releasing. And so if you have a child that tends to get emotional or tends to develop attachment, stronger attachments to inanimate things. It is something that you want to look out for because of course we don't want This to skew into the arena of attachment disorder where they start having deep seated fears surrounding abandonment. There can be certain, you know, psychological issues and developmental issues in the patterning there. If it's just kind of an innocent type of thing, but they don't like it when something has to get thrown away or they're always paying attention to the feelings of the things around them, that is definitely like a card carrying sign of an intuitive child.
So number two, I just talked about this a little bit, burial rituals or interest in ceremonies in general. A call to create ceremonies. This can be dressing up. This can be certain rituals that they're developing. If you ever have a child that when they're in nature, they're putting together little potions of pine cones, or they're collecting rocks and bringing them home and creating these sacred little bundles. That is a very, very strong sign of not only a very spiritually consciously evolved child, but also a very intuitive child that probably and their stellium, which is the stellium is the collective we am not going to go too deeply into that, but within their stellium, they have had a lot of very ancient energy, perhaps indigenous past lives, things of that. And so they actually remember the importance and significance of ceremonies. And so it's very sad that our apart from, you know, maybe a couple of things at Christmas or Easter that we've lost sight of the importance of ceremony because ceremony was, of course, something that helped people to strengthen their faith through one another, through the group or through the community. So if you have a child that is very interested in death, very often intuitive children, this is another one on the list. They're curious about death and very advanced concepts Long a child normally is in development. So already around the age of like five, six years old, they're asking questions about death, sexuality, suffering, why things have to happen in the world the way that they do, there is a lot of curiosity surrounding this. And if you or your child ever did little secret rituals, for me because I did not grow up in a religious family, but my entire life reality was about the connection to the divine, I had to develop my own way of practicing this.
And so what I would do is I would create something called little God boxes. And it would, it was literally like a shoe box or a tissue box and I would write God on it and I would put in it anything that I wanted to share or sacrifice to the divine. And apparently I learned in retrospect that this was a practice and like ancient, ancient Peru that priest assisted like thousands and thousands of years ago. But for me, I would put in my things and I would dig a hole. And I would bury the God box. And along the way, my dad started getting concerns because he thought we had gophers because there were all these holes in the property. And so he started exhuming these God boxes. And I remember the energy that I felt because this was like my special secret thing. I felt shame when he found me. Like, how do I explain this? And my parents didn't know how to reconcile this. I mean, they saw the word God on the box and completely freaked out, you know? And so they had my very Catholic Nana come in and ask me questions about what God was to me and what this was for. And so I stopped with the God boxes, but I always held that That space for ceremony and rituals and traditions. And it's really important if your children, you can make this fun with your children. Just like when you were a child, if you ever had little houses for spiders or whatever else, any way that they can commute with nature and with you in a way that is accepted and embraced, it just allows this part of them or that part of you to be able to be seen and accepted and expressed. So, the next one we'll covered, vivid dreams.
ELISE: Yep.
CARISSA: Okay, the next one is that they can tend to be very interested in spiritual concepts in general: crystals, conversations about different religions or ancient history, history in general. It's a big thing for them, but anything, you know, with some kids, it's like you start to talk about consciousness or the very horizontal, like, I just want to go play with my cars and go play with my friends. But with the more intuitive child, it's like they have a thirst not to be told the dogma, but just a thirst for these types of conversations. And so it's been interesting over the years that I've had a lot of parents that put themselves in the category of agnostic or atheist that come to me with these children and they're like, we don't know what to do. We've taken them to psychologists. Nothing's wrong with them, but it's like they have this entire different perception of reality and we need help for them to be able to nourish that. We just, we don't know how to have these conversations. So we want to create for them a space to be able to ask and integrate their own perception of reality with regards to their individual relationship with the divine. And that is really special because this is one of Yeshua's entire messages, was each person has an individual relationship with the divine and it's up to you to figure that out or to understand that within yourself. You can be informed by certain beliefs or dogmas or whatever. But that's just extra. It's up to you to discover and uncover what it is that the divine and consciousness means to you in an internal way, but that's the opposite of a lot of the indoctrination, especially in this last age, that it's espousing the beliefs that beliefs have become fake. And clearly we know that that is not working very well.
ELISE: Mm mm.
CARISSA: So, They do tend to need more space than other children. Space to process things. It is very difficult for most, not all, most intuitive children or intuitive people in general to go from thing to thing to thing to thing, without needing a tremendous amount of time to integrate. This does not mean that all intuitive children are introverts. That is a huge fallacy, in general. It means that they need space to process things and a certain amount of structure or routine in order to feel safe, because you have to remember, while every person has their intuition, people that are more horizontally inclined or at that space within their development of their consciousness, they're primarily dealing with the horizontal and how to fit in, you know, to the structures of the horizontal with intuitive Children. They're integrating both the vertical and the horizontal at a very young age and a more profound or expressed way than a lot of different Children. And so giving them the space, really creating them, helping them to create the space that they need is so important because very often setting that boundary of the need for space is criticized school systems, friends, whatever else. And so they try to push through, they try to push through, push through, push through and they wind up crashing or having anxiety issues or depression issues as a result of that. So meditation, sacred space at already a very early age is an important one. So, for this next one, I'm going to put an asterisk around this because there's kind of two different tiers to this one. So the next is a concern for the placement of things.
ELISE: Mm.
CARISSA: spatial boundary.
ELISE: Interesting.
CARISSA: can be a problem, if you have one child who's very lunar, very intuitive, and another child who's more solar. You know, very strong. Let's go out, more extroverted. Let's go out. Let's do things, you know, very much passionate about the exploration of the horizontal world, and then you have a lunar more intuitive child who is constantly pinging into the vertical and out the horizontal. Yes, they do need space, but one of the things that they do tend to develop, and I want to caution this because sometimes this can be OCD, but really it can turn into that if it's not integrated in a healthy way. But they do tend to be very oriented towards the structural placement of things. So if you have a child that likes things in their room to be a certain way, if you have a child that makes little clusters of things or patterns of things and gets really upset when their sibling or even you come in and try to disrupt. For an intuitive child, it's difficult for them experiencing what they do to feel like they have healthy control over order within their lives. And so sometimes, you know, it's not just the rituals, what makes them feel safe is having things in their right place, things that are theirs that they can control in a healthy way. Now, if they start skewing towards wanting to control the space of others or their siblings toys or your things or whatever else, that's an entirely different conversation but for many intuitive children protecting having their sacred space as they needed to be is really important with them to just be able to have it's almost like a crutch or a security blanket for them to be able to feel safe within their horizontal environment or even their home space or sometimes even in their school environment. I Worked with a young woman who Was mocked and rid of ridiculed when she was, you know in her early teens because her desk at school She needed to have it set up in a very specific way and the psychologists and whatever were like She's ocd or whatever else and I told her mom I was like tell them she just needs this to be this way for her To be able to know where things are. She's already highly sensitive. She can, she's easily emotionally overwhelmed. So allowing her to have this sacred space, that's her set up in this way, it's just going to allow her to, it's going to allow her to feel more connected to what is hers versus what is everybody else's energetically.
I also want to make the distinction because I don't want it to sound like if you have a solar child who's very engaged in the world and extroverted and a lunar child that one or the other is or isn't intuitive. There are two parts of our intuition, which I think we've discussed on one of your podcasts before, just to simplify intuition, there are two parts to the way that it speaks to you. First, is I would say the lighter side of the spectrum. Inspiration. The inspiration aspect of your intuition is just that part of you that sees, experiences, receives something. And it's so powerful. You just feel this. Yes. Even if it's something that you never expected or is totally left. And you just feel this. Yes. This resonance. This curiosity, that is more of the inspiration aspect of your intuition, your consciousness that is saying, let's explore this a little bit. Let's see what's in there. There is a possibility for evolution, for realization. And then there is the healthy shadow aspect of your intuition, or the realized shadow. I don't like shadow and light, I like realized and unrealized, blah blah. But the realized shadow, healthy shadow, part of your intuition, that is your discernment. And the discernment is just that part of you that says, Pause. Our intuition is very rarely, this is such a false narrative, is very rarely a red light. It's in very rare situations where your safety is compromised that your intuition will be like, don't go down that road. Normally, your discernment is just kind of like, hey, pause, let's give this some space. Let's look into this. Let's make sure that my mind, which asks the question, am I safe, is on board. My heart that asks, Is, can I feel, is this expressive? Is this balanced? Is this energetically reciprocal? And does my spirit, my soul, which asks the question, can I evolve through committing or being a part of this thing? Are we on board with all of this? Because often we don't know.
Sometimes our hearts can be like, yes, I wanna do this. And our mind is like, abort, abort. No, no, no. Bad idea. And so our discernment is just that part of us that is helping us to feel it, to the intuition carried in our mental bodies, our emotional bodies, and then our spirit body. So it's kind of just that part of us that says, snail mode, yellow light, snail mode, during this period of time. There can be solar chil solar children tend to follow more of the inspiration. So solar intuitive children, it's more, Inspiration and let's do this. And in theory, all of this is possible. And so if you have a solar intuitive child that is more engaged in things, boundaries are really important because they have a strong inspiration and theory self. And so you, as their parents, or even when parents in your own intuition needs to kind of be the voice, the counterbalance of the reality. So strong boundaries and let's take time before blowing into things, making sure that you're taking time to integrate, they have space to integrate is really important. And then with a lunar, more lunar child, they tend to be more discerning, following more of the discernment. So they are not the one that is always running out into the playground or going up to a stranger and saying, Hi, it's nice to meet you. They tend to be the one that can be hiding behind mommy. A little bit, putting out the little kind of snail tentacles to feel into things. And it saddens me that a lot of this type of the lunar, they're very creative, the lunar intuitive children, they kind of get labeled as neurotic or attachment issues. And that is not always the case. Often with a lunar child, they have a very strong compass of discernment and a very strong, naturally, naturally built into their essence is a very strong moral structure. And so having this aspect where they're kind of testing into things take a little bit longer to commit to things are very clear on what they do like and don't like, that's an important thing to embrace and empower within them because if they feel like they have healthy control over it, then it doesn't start tipping into neuroticism or you know, or fear surrounding things. It's just giving them the space that they need to tune in, to feel in to the energy of a person or a given situation.
All right, man, we are, we are slamming through this list. This is a bit of a weird one. We're going Judi Jetson here, but I'm going to put this on the list. And Elise, I know that you, you have experienced this, especially with your youngest. There tends to be some very interesting, I would say energetic experiences that happen around them. These are called the siddhis. S I D D H I S. I'm not going to go into a lesson on the siddhis and all of that sort of thing. But when someone is very conscious, very strong vibration, very light, the residue of their meta, which is their soul force, can create interesting manifestations around them, like certain electrical activities. In Lakota tradition, they recognized which of the people were meant to be the medicine men that were Heyoka because they were, there would be a lot of electrical activity around them, struck by lightning. Many Heyokas had experiences where they were struck by lightning, born during lightning storms, very interesting things happening with regards to light. If you have a child, for some reason in many of their baby pictures, they were either staring out into nowhere, but almost really looking like they were looking at something. Or if they would look at you, and it's almost like they would pierce you, see into the heart of your soul. Or if there were little orbs around them. And this is like, this is like a constant thing. Not just once or twice. That usually means that your child is very strong or that you were very strong within your spirit, essence, or with regards to the expression of vertical attunement. Very early. And this starts pretty early on within someone's life. So I'm putting that on the list.
The final one, and Yeshua nailed this one on the June journey a couple of weeks ago, and I know that he's going deeper into it when he talks about alchemy and September, which I'm really excited about. So, drumroll. Intuitive children. Especially Yashua children, some of you may have empathic children, you know, so now there's this new agey stuff with crystal children and indigos and I'm not going to go too deeply into that today because I don't want this to be a discussion about, Oh, my baby is an indigo and my baby is a special crystal, whatever. Personally, if I did have a child, I would be so happy if it was just normal. Like, I don't want to, I don't need you to be a crystal. Like, it's just normal, especially my experience in this life. And all children are special. All children have different aspects of their essence. And it is very true that the closer that we've moved into this era shift and the age of Aquarius, more and more children are being born with the veils more deeply. And some of this is because it is more acceptable to have more of a spiritual as opposed to religious path. But that's not all of it. We can't just put it on all of it. Some of it is just, it is these children and they're being born more and more with the veils largely lifted. So their perception of reality, is very different from some of the adults or parents or certainly the grandparents around them. These children now are really the first generations that are being born with the veil of, veil of separation lifted. So they see things more through the lens of unity and oneness. The veil of polarity is less strong in them, believe it or not. So they really just like balance and consistency instead of extremes and large lifting of the veil of complacency. So the more recent generations of children are really pushing some of the older generations out of very complacent stuck, you know, greedy old era structures that are no longer serving the evolution of the collective consciousness.
So because of this, one of the very deep qualities of intuitive children or children that are meant to serve in a more affecting the consciousness of the collective type of way, is that their orientation is less about knowledge and more about understanding. They are not just seeking to know things, to learn things. They are also seeking to understand why things are the way that they are. And so for many highly sensitive children, they're not just sitting in school looking at what the teacher is writing on the chalkboard. They are sitting and trying to understand why am I in this school? What is being taught to me? Is this the way that this institution should be run? That is not what a lot of our education system or even, you know, early development system gives us. It's about knowledge, learning, learning more, no more, no more standing on that ledge of who knows the most. But these Children, many, many of them coming, their spirits coming to bodies at this time and over the past 20 to 30 years, they are seeking to understand and Yeshua in June reminded us that understanding means to stand under, to stand under in the foundation of things. What is the foundation? What are these huge structures? And then what is the foundation that is beneath that? Because if the orientation is horizontal, more progress, let's make the structures, all the knowledge higher and higher and higher, and the foundation is faulty, the whole thing is going to crumble. And so intuitive children are deeply looking at how to understand the foundation of themselves. I mean, let's look at what's, you know, people now discussing trauma, intergenerational trauma, ancestral trauma, the foundations of what brought things to where they are. Those are very new and very important types of discussions. It's just important that we don't get stuck on the trauma and get stuck on shifting, strengthening the foundation within ourselves so that we can not only liberate ourselves but also others. Forgive them. The understanding that they need, not the knowledge that they need, the beliefs that they need, the ideology that they need, but the understanding that they need to liberate their own selves. And that is really the premise for the Aquarian Age and what Yeshua shared in his life. Healer, heal thyself. The healers of the Aquarian Era are those that are not just, you know, oh, people come to me because they can't heal themselves. It's about healers that also give people the mechanisms to be able to heal themselves and empowering the knowledge that your body, if you give it what it needs, your spirit, your body, your heart, your mind already within it has what it needs to be able to heal, transform, and resurrect into deeper balance, deeper trust, and deeper love.
ELISE: Beautiful.
CARISSA: That's my list.
ELISE: okay. You mentioned the in theory self versus the reality self. And I think that that's a helpful concept as I now understand And I just want people to know that when I first heard this transmission about this, I was like, Oh, my in reality self really is on lock. I never and Carissa, was like, Are you kidding? All you do is you're in theory self writes checks that you're in reality self can't cash. But like you're so backwards. Because I was like, I am so so in reality, no. Do you have time to just quickly explain?
CARISSA: Yes. Yeshua dropped this bomb on us on the march journey, and he actually said it really quick, like on the last day. And so it was easy to kind of skip over. But when I heard it, it was like a punch in the gut and a really needed punch in the gut. Because He was speaking about these two different aspects of self, that when balanced, are incredibly important to your experience of both vertical as well as horizontal reality. When imbalanced, these two aspects of self, these are the two parts of self that create the illusion itself. So years ago, he talked about the illusion self and how to recognize the illusion self and all of that. But all along, I've kind of been wondering, how does that illusion self get created? Is it the acquired personality? Is it just experiences, expectations, you know, betrayals, and he said that the majority of the illusion self can be created by these two aspects. The first is the in theory self, and the second is the reality self. And the in theory self is that part of self for those of you that tend to be over committers, the in theory self is more that part of self that's like, yes, I'll do this. I'll commit to this. Yes, I can manage this commitment and this commitment and these other 16 commitments. The in theory self flows more with the part of the intuition that is the inspiration. But when unchecked, all of a sudden it can lead you to start being so over committed that everything in your life starts feeling like a burden, meaning that all of the in theory just cannot ground itself in reality.
And I see this sometimes in deeply creative people, artistic people, very vertical people. Oh, in theory, we could create this and it'll be an art project and then I'll turn it into a podcast and then it'll be a talent. And it's like, whoa, that's going to take years of time. Like you're doing this in two years, like that's going to take years of time. I'm not telling you no. But let's just look at the reality of the situation so that we're not creating expectations that then lead to disappointments and then feelings of failure or shame or whatever else it is. And then there's the reality self, which is wonderful because the reality self is more of the discernment that says, let no, let's not maybe commit to too much. Let's take a little bit of space. Let's feel things out. Let's honor, let's embrace our simplicity and stability before adding more. But the reality self..
ELISE: The wet blanket party pooper self.
CARISSA: Total Debbie downer. You know, no, we're not gonna do this. You are given a beautiful inspiration. I wanna write a book or I'm going to, you know, create a cooking class. And the reality self saying, what are you gonna write? You don't have the credentials. Everybody else is doing cooking classes. So it can be a really big demi downer that starts talking you out of some of your dreams and visions of and the joy of passion surrounding what is possible. So listening to this was very revelatory to me because I was like what is the real source of my like deeper issues, like the consistent issues in this life. I'm like, I've done a lot of work with my critical self. I've done a lot of work with integrating my shadow. This isn't a shadow thing. And then I realized that like 75 percent of my issues in this life are because of my in theory self. And I realized that I actually think that my in theory self has been actively trying to murder me for like decades at this point. So these past months, I put a lot of energy into honoring my reality self, not over committing, keeping things in balance and really just doing some checks. And I've got to say that what that's created for me is a lot more spaciousness. And it's also been a very helpful tool with regards to cutting my tendency towards wanting to please.
ELISE: Hmm.
CARISSA: Setting a boundary saying no to something because I'm afraid of the perceived conflict or the disappointment that it would. And you would know this you're an INFJ Myers Briggs personality type, but INFJs really, really struggle with boundaries. And saying no to things because they just want the environment around them and everything to be peaceful and balanced and harmonious. So nevertheless, but it's been very, very helpful for me to integrate this a little bit more. And so any listeners that are tuning in, you might want to have a little conversation. Yeshua just said, have a conversation or a dialogue with each of these two. And because they are two different aspects of you, you don't want to get rid of these two different aspects of you, but very often we can sometimes leave one out of the dialogue. So I've been having dialogues with both each of them and then with myself as the witness or the mediator and it's very interesting how, to see how they naturally have come back into balance.
ELISE: In my mind, the corollaries are the inspiration and discernment, the in theory and the in reality and the horizontal, the vertical, and then also The Shakti and the Chi. And for me, I have given them animal symbology, which is important to me. And I have my panther and my horse and my horse is my Chi and my panther is my Shakti and my horse is going to die of exhaustion unless it concedes control to the panther. That was a lot for people, but I've written about this in newsletters, but it's a bit helpful for me to be like, let's get, stop running.
CARISSA: Yeah, but this is why you're so powerful as a seer. Like, I really don't think you give yourself enough credit for it. But the fact that these two and the invocation of the light reconciled so naturally, and now you actually have a part of your psychic library to feel in to the two of them when they show up, how they show up is, I'm jealous. That's so incredible.
ELISE: Oh, my sweet, my sweet panther. Okay, you mentioned the field of memory. And I feel like people are going to have questions about what that is. And is that too big of a concept?
CARISSA: Yes, I think that it's important to just bring a little bit of energy into this. And maybe we can spin this into a part two
ELISE: Yep.
CARISSA: But I feel like introducing this is really important to them, a bit of a longer conversation about some of the codes and conflicts, like that may be a really helpful, I know you did a newsletter on it, but going through these different ones, I've gotten more feedback about that specific transmission series than almost any other in years, just because it's so applicable, but also taking this then into understanding the difference between a prophet and an oracle. I think we're being a little ambitious by trying to fit that all in. I do want to address the field of memory with a certain level of simplicity because it is so important for those of us, all of those present listening who are on, whether you like it or not, are on a path of consciousness and evolution and service to that on this planet. It is important to have the understanding of the field of memory because it, it just brings peace. It brings peace with whatever is going on in politics, global events and everything. And so just for The benefit of the piece, the listeners, I want to share just a couple of words about it. So the field of memory, I've called it the field of memory for quite a while now. It is almost like this completely other dimension that interacts with this physical realm but is not completely transcended. So it's almost like this entire blanket of a field. If you envision a field of memory, you can almost envision it like an electric field. If you see an electric field, it's like this entire network of lights that are spread out.
In the field of memory, Some people call it the hall of records or whatever. The field of memory is what carries the experience of everything that has ever happened since the dawn of time. So every memory, and it's not just the memory that we know. Every memory that a given person has had, experience that they have had, all contributes, is held within this massive field of memory. When we come into bodies, we descend through, we descend under, in a sense, I don't want to make it sound spatial, but we descend under the field of memory. And our experience in this life, we experience, you know, this is a duality experience. And so we experience self as separate from the other. But each and every one, so we think, Oh, I have my memories and they have their memories. But really, all of our memories are contributing to the field of memory. Every single thing, thought that has ever happened throughout the history of time.
The present is where we make those contributions. So right now, we are contributing to the field of memory as is every moment of your breath. There is an aspect of the field of memory that is still unrealized, meaning that it hasn't happened yet. This is why Yeshua says the shadow the unreal the unrealized is just space waiting to be filled with light. So as time goes on as we evolve, you know through life, the field of memory becomes increasingly popular. So the field of memory so when we come into body, We contribute to the field of memory, when we transition out of body, when we quote unquote die, leave body, we cross back through the field of memory. So some people report that experience that have had near death experiences, that moment of their transition, their entire life, everything, everything flashes before their eyes in total peace, total truth. The horrible experience, everything is just there. That is very true. They're passing back through the field of memory and beyond the field of memory. When you're in the spirit space, all of a sudden. You see all of the memories that your enemies have had and how they struggled with certain things and how this, and it all just turns to peace and understanding. And so when I'm working with a person, whether it's psychic session or mediumship or whatever else, I go online. I call online, accessing the field of memory. I connect to them. So sometimes I receive energy through their own memories, but really I'm connecting to the field of memory. And if there's a spirit energy, I'm able to access certain memories to be able to give information or accurate messages or certain things that are coming through. And this is very important because if I couldn't access the field of memory and I just said, Oh, your grandfather saying X, Y, and Z, or your, you know, friend from high school is saying X, Y, or Z with absolutely no details or memories or a way for that person to connect to the person they were, they would be like, you know, is there any call anything concrete that you can give me that tells me that this is actually them.
So I work with the field of memory all the time. And the field of memory is very much that. space within sacred space where you're able to receive certain visions of things. And the important thing to know is that the field of memory, we're going to talk about this in a totally different podcast, but the field of memory, it's a field of peace. There were conflicts, wars, experiences of deep shadow along the way, but it's a balanced field. Everything balances out. In the end and from some of that shadow that conflict those unevolved experiences through history. We're continuously Evolving growing in the light, growing in the evolution of our consciousness, not only as individuals, but also collectively and so what you contribute to the field of memory really does matter. And that is why as yeshua said his definition of success in this life has nothing to do with what you do You And the horizontal, it's just maintaining a purity of heart. There are people that we think of as doing horrible things that they just didn't know any other way of doing them. Purity of heart is what matters. It's like the Beatitudes, when he says blessed are, blessed are, blessed are the meek, blessed are the pure of heart. You can miss the mark over and over and over and over again. If you have a pure heart that still is striving for deeper love, for deeper compassion, for deeper service and connection and beauty in this world. That's what matters most.
ELISE: Beautiful. In your experience is this gendered? Is there a difference amongst children?
CARISSA: I have seen no difference between the children that I've worked with, young adults that I've worked with, with regards to gender, which is very interesting. Okay. Because very often we think as, you know, females is more the intuitives and males is less the intuitives. But what I have found is that it's been pretty 50 50 with regards to the people that have come to me or brought or those that I've, found throughout my experience. But it has been more males.
ELISE: Interesting.
CARISSA: So naturally, I naturally have found more females. I've worked with many of them. I'm working with a young girl who lives in the Midwest. She's only nine. Incredible medium, incredible, incredible. But with regards to Nick it's been more boys or young men. At first I was like, you know, why is that? But then I realized that this may be because young men are young boys with intuitive or more emotional abilities, it's not as expected. And so it's almost as though the parents need to like make this work. And with little girls, it's like, Oh, she's just intuitive. She's just sensitive. She's just a little girl. Having her sensitivities and visions. So we don't need to develop this. It's just because she's a girl, but if it's a boy or a young man, we need to get to the bottom of this. Clearly there's a specialness and we need to figure out what that is. So I do feel that there is something societal where men with these abilities are kind of almost like exalted Whereas in females, some of these abilities are almost a little bit more dismissed or
ELISE: interesting. At some point we'll have this conversation too, which we've had and I don't want to say that this is completely gendered, because that would be not completely true, but the guru energy, which is, in my experience, far more prominent amongst men of, I have this capacity to connect to the divine, therefore, like I am the divine. Whereas I feel like most women are like, I'm a channel. I'm used to sharing energy. I have a vessel in my body to even do this. And are much more conscious of being a co creation. And again, we're all special, but I feel like men in this space can be like, I am God and do what I say and really get a Messiah complex where I feel like I'm sure it happens amongst women. It feels more rare.
CARISSA: Well, testosterone does way crazier things with money, sex, and power. Those three external structures that have the tendency to corrupt the most. Testosterone goes a lot more crazy. With those than estrogen and progesterone and some of the feminine hormones. I mean, that's kind of like a bit of a sweeping generalization, but it is true. And with men, with the guru, it's more about the me. I see this in a lot of men that I work with my specialness, and with women, it's more about how can I use this for my service? What is the service here? There's a lot more humility within the process and with women, there's almost even more of an apology surrounding it, where they're almost like apologetic for some of these abilities. Whereas men are very inclined to say like, yup, I'm a medium. Yup. I'm a channel. I'm just going to grab onto this. So there are definitely certain, I would say societal things, but I think that it's also, there are also some biological things that play a role in this.
ELISE: Super interesting. Thank you.
It’s always a ride with Carissa and always fun. I know we left on a little bit of a cliff hanger, but she is going to come back and talk to us about the codes of anger, the Chakral codes, which I wrote about on my newsletter: Eliseloehnen.substack.com. And we’ll talk about this at greater lengths, but I didn’t want to leave you hanging. So, the difference between a prophet, a psychic medium, and an oracle, in short is that psychic mediums are like super-computers who have access to the field of memory, this evolved capacity to access this realm and bring it through. Prophets are microphones for the divine, they are channels where information comes through them, it’s not authored by them, I would say in some ways prophets have been replaced by technology, unfortunately, but of course there a prophets still amongst us, but we will always be searching for certain proof rather than accepting what a prophet might say. And then an oracle, these are our artists, these are the ones who create prophecy in art. Alright, I will see you next time.
I love your conversations with Carissa. Thanks for leading me to her and her work! This topic is so fascinating, seeing these things in my children brings me so much joy 😊
