St. Patrick's Breastplate: The Deer's Cry

Thank you Prune Harris for this gorgeous way to welcome the day.

CAPTION:

I had the opportunity to do a two-day workshop with Prune Harris last week, a Celtic Shaman and energy expert (I won’t say healer because part of Prune’s generosity and genius is that she teaches you how to sense, heal, and hold your own energy field). While she stopped short of opening portals and sending us flying through them a la Dr. Strange, it was a powerful two day workshop—more to come in my newsletter. On the second day, she took us outside and showed us St. Patrick’s Breastplate, or the Dear’s Cry. According to legend, St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, transfigured into a deer to escape an ambush (among other miracles). This is a 9-Fold prayer for the morning, a way to invoke the natural world, ground yourself, and connect to the energy of the elements. (If you don’t want to say the word heaven, you can swap it according to your preferences.) Words below as the sound is a little faint—Prune’s movements are clear!

I arise today, with
strength of heaven,
light of sun,
radiance of moon,
splendor of fire,
speed of lightning,
swiftness of wind,
depth of ocean,
stability of earth,
firmness of rock.
